Pakistan is facing its
worst medical relief challenge after the recent Earthquake
2005 which has affected more than 3 million people. Many
different organizations are actively involved in Medical
Relief activities working day in and day out to alleviate
the sufferings and saving lives Alhamdolillah.
However, considering the enormity of
the relief work worsened by geographical and climatic
challenges, the need for coordinated effort becomes all
too important in order to use the resources efficiently
to provide help at the right place, right time and right
way.
In order to meet the challenge, and deliver
coordinated & efficient medical relief to the victims
of this calamity, PIMA has set up the Medical Relief Information
& Coordination Center (MedRICC) where our team is working
diligently and untiringly to gather updated information
from the hospitals and medical camps working in the disaster
areas to update the needs on a daily basis.
The team also contacts various organizations
which are involved in medical relief and are offering
their resources, either to our center or through the web
site, for the relief work. The center then matches the
need with the resources, available and offered by various
organizations, and routes them accordingly.
