Situation in many areas of the Malakand, Swat, Dir, Bajaur and Buner has become devastated due to the current armed conflict. Hundreds and thousands of innocent civilians (including women and children) have been killed and more than a million have become homeless due to the continuous unrest & uncertainty in the area. There is paucity of funds and facilities provided to these Internally Displaced Persons. PIMA is putting up its best efforts to extend all possible help in these hard times “YOU”, who are our eyes, ears and tongue can listen to the cry and feel the agony of these people. We remember the efforts and concerns that you showed during the natural disasters like the 2005 earthquake of Kashmir & Hazara, 2008 earthquake of Baluchistan, Famine in Sindh and Floods in NWFP.

These were all Natural disasters but this time, we are facing the man made disaster, perhaps one of its kinds in the history of our country. Again, there is a flood, but not of water. It is the flood of people. The people, who like us owned property, were wealthy but were compelled to leave their places in only two clothes on their body. They are men women, elderly and children, living in various camps scattered from Peshawar to Swabi. The people who used to pay Zakat are now themselves deserving the same. They are looking towards you in this hour of need.

This misery, agony and pain is not only affecting the people of Swat, Buner, Dir and Bajaur, but it’s the agony and pain of the whole of Pakistan. This is the time to condole, support and encourage them to fight this calamity. Let’s not only protect their bodies but also their souls and prove to them that we are ONE in accordance with the saying of the Holy prophet (SAW), which says, “All Muslims are like a body. If one of its parts has pain, the whole of it feels”
Today, doctors from the whole of PIMA Pakistan are standing with us shoulder to shoulder and hand in hand. PIMA has immediately responded to the situation and has set Medical relief camps in different areas. The PIMA ambulance service is also on road to cater the needs of the patients who are still walking to their camps.
